THE STRAW MAN ON THE CROSS
When DEEV landed on Hylox, It decided to come back trying his best to emulate a human life so the wish sprite took the form of a “child” which was essentially a wish sprite trying to emulate the human biological function of aging.
Early on , Deev was captured by a group of scientists led by Professor Tagard, being discovered on a cow farmer’s property.
They spent years running various experiments on DEEV, trying to understand It’s magical abilities, such as its ability to stretch It’s arms, and It’s seemingly indestructible body.
Over the years the Sprite stopped cooperating with authority, leading to them having to restrain and subdue DEEV.
During an experiment they found that raw Ambigdolic Magic was harmful to DEEV, which led them to hypothesize that the alien was composed of Wish magic - an ancient magic that was thought to be depleted on Hylox.
A colleague of Tagard, an archaeologist by the name Professor Victor Avrixson, hoped to learn how to extract DEEV’s Wish magic from It’s physical form.
Victor was very aware of what DEEV was, and approached this situation delicately.
When Victor arrived to work with Tagard, He and his Wife Azi were very personal with DEEV, sympathizing with It. and gaining the Sprite's trust.
Victor persuaded Professor Tagard to step down from his position, allowing Victor to oversee the experiment.
Victor and Azi eventually found a way to get a sample of the wish sprite’s magic using a needle dipped in Amybigdolic magic, it allowed DEEV’s skin to be penetrated.
This was a huge breakthrough, one that got to Victor’s head, he had magic he’d been searching his entire life for.
His team drained the sprite of all of It’s magic to aid in Victor’s personal research, unaware that DEEV could not create more of the substance once depleted.
DEEV was left an emotionless hollow shell, unable to perform It’s magical abilities.
Azi insisted they find a way to reverse this but Victor had no luck.
Instead Victor got DEEV to peacefully consent to an experimental magical transfusion by promising him that the procedure would revitalize It, by introducing Ambigdolic magic to It’s body.
During the experiment, It brought back It’s emotions and abilities.
However, the magic warped DEEV’s appearance and personality drastically, It was extremely unstable.
DEEV felt betrayed by Victor and Azi.
It fled the facility and began hunting down other wish sprites on Hylox, desperately attempting to drain them of their magic for It’s own body, though the Amybigdolic magic would simply burn away any wish sprite that it touched.
DEEV would go on to murder Wish Sprites including The One Who Loved, The Squad Member and many others attempting to fuel It's own body.
It even tangled with Peregrine the Root Witch and Jonni the Weaver.
The rogue wish sprite seemed impossible to defeat and posed a threat to Humanity and Under Realm folk for many years.
DEEV was finally drained of Amybigdolic magic by The One Who Had Fun With Colorz and the Terra Titans.
Currently DEEV resides with Katie within the wishing tower, recoving from It's traumatic experiences.
